Half Marathon & 10k Events

                                                                                5k CIRCUIT FOR 10k EVENT & HALF MARATHON

                 The routes for the 10k Event and the Half Marathon are the same except that the Half Marathon includes 1 lap of the track at the start.

                 The courses consist of a basic 5k circuit described below.

                 10k Event 2 laps of the 5k circuit.
                 Half Marathon 4 laps of the 5k circuit plus 1 lap around the track at the start for the first runner/walker only. 

                                                                               

BASIC 5k CIRCUIT

                  Start in front of the Clubrooms. Head towards the cricket club car park.

                  Turn right into Bell’s Road.

                  Turn right into Lady Marie Drive.

                  Turn left into Cascades Rd. (Take care crossing Lady Marie Drive)

                  Turn left into Aviemore Drive by the roundabout.

                  Go along Aviemore Drive until you reach the path just before the bus stop in front of the Community House. 

                  Turn left onto the path, which leads to Lloyd Elsmore Park, and cross over the bridge at the end of the path.

                  Go straight up the path past the duck pond, and you’ll come out on Sir Lloyd Drive opposite the entrance to the swimming

                  pool.

                  Cross over the road (Sir Lloyd Drive) and turn left onto the path. (Take care crossing the road).

                  Go up the path on Sir Lloyd Drive, then on the grass toward Bell’s Rd. When you get near the roundabout cross to the

                  other side of Sir Lloyd Drive.   (Take care while crossing road.)

                   Turn left into Bell’s Rd. by the roundabout and when safe, cross to the other side. (Take care crossing Bell’s Rd.)

                   Go along Bell’s Rd. and then turn right into Lady Marie Drive.

                   Turn right into Cascades Rd. and then through the club car park to either change team member or finish on the start line

                   in front of the Clubrooms.

HALF MARATHON 

                    Start time is 8.30am        The Start, Relay Changeover and Finish Point are all on the line in front of the clubrooms.

  • 1 lap around the track at the start for the first runner/walker only, then 4 laps of the basic 5k circuit. See below for the track course.

  • Trophy awarded for closest to estimated time. Forms for estimating your time available from the kitchen counter.

  • Make up a team of 2,3 or 4 persons or compete individually.

  • Please note: 2,3 or 4 person Relay participants do not run/walk together, when  one finishes the other starts.

  • No Watches - No Radios – No Phones – No times called.

    TRACK COURSE FOR THE FIRST RUNNER/WALKER

    Start on the line in front of the clubrooms.
    Head towards the cricket club car-park, turn right at the car-park and go through the gate and down the concrete path onto the track.
    Turn right at the track and run/walk onto the outside lane. Stay on the outside lane and do a complete circuit and a half, anti-clockwise, of the track.
    Continue on the track until you reach the other concrete path leading up to the athletic club car park. Go up the path, through the gate, turn right back towards the clubhouse until you reach the start/finish line.
    Now continue on to do the first lap of the 4 lap 5k circuit.                   

                                                                                                         10k EVENT

     Start time for both Relay and Individuals is 9.00am   The Start, Relay Changeover and Finish Point are all on the line in front of the clubrooms.        

  •  Course is 2 laps of the basic 5k circuit.

  •  Trophy awarded for closest to estimated time and runner up. Forms for estimating your time available from the kitchen counter.

  •  Make up a team of 2 persons or compete individually. - 2 person Relay 1x 5k lap each, or Individual competitor 2x 5k laps.

  •  No Watches - No Radios – No Phones – No times called
